WARRANTY SERVICING A NEW CAR IN NEW ZEALAND

New car servicing  warranty

Can a car be serviced by someone other than the manufacturers agent or dealer in New Zealand without voiding warranties? The short answer is “yes” however some conditions may apply. Check the terms of any manufacturers warranty for your vehicle before servicing.

So if you are finding it hard to take it to the dealership & want to save some dollars think local, as we should be able to help without voiding warranties. We have all the latest equipment, use & recommend only quality parts & guarantee our workmanship.

The manufacturers warranty may set out requirements that consumers must comply with. For example, it may require the consumer to ensure any servicing is carried out:

  • by qualified staff
  • according to the manufacturers specification
  • using appropriate quality parts where required

Provided you service the vehicle in accordance with any such requirements, the manufacturers warranty will remain valid. Note other conditions may apply under extended warranties so its important to check the terms.

NEWSLETTER MARCH 2017

March 2017 Newsletter

This is our third newsletter. Easter/April school holidays are coming up fast (last day for term 1 is Thursday 13 April). It seems the kids only just went back to school!

Planning on heading away and you are not too sure when the vehicle was last serviced, just check for a current service label on the windscreen to make sure your vehicle is up to date so you can have a trouble free trip. If it does need a service just give us a call.

Helpful hints before you leave home:

  • Check all fluid levels – oil, water (engine coolant) & windscreen fluid
  • Check tyre pressures – if unsure of pressures check for a label on the drivers door frame
  • Check headlights, indicators and brake lights (including high stop light) are all working. If something isn’t working it may just be a simple bulb replacement required.

Ensure you keep a safe distance between cars in front, allow for extra weight with all your gear, if towing remember an increased stopping distance is required.

Face book

We now have our face book operational. We are endeavouring to make regular posts with interesting or helpful details. So like us if you wish and stay tuned.

Safe motoring.

Leaf Litter Damage To Vehicles

Leaf Litter Damage

If your vehicle is parked outside perhaps by trees a friendly reminder to remember to lift the bonnet regularly and clear out all the stuck leaf litter. See the image for an example of how much debris can form under a bonnet very quickly.

Failing to clear out this leaf little can result in major damage. We have recently had  vehicles in the workshop that have needed some serious engine work. This is thanks to excess rain overflow getting into places it shouldnt. If the leaves had been cleared the rain overflow would not have occured.
